At Community Energy Project (CEP), we believe in making energy efficiency accessible to everyone, especially the most vulnerable in our communities. Our latest video, “The Magic of Heat Pump Water Heaters,” is an exciting step forward in achieving this mission.

This video serves as an essential resource to educate and empower individuals on the benefits of heat pump water heaters. These systems are not only energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, but they also provide significant savings over time—benefits that align perfectly with our goal of building resilient, efficient, and healthy homes.

Why CEP Created This Video

Understanding energy systems can often feel overwhelming. By creating a clear, engaging, and visually compelling explainer, we aim to break down complex information into something approachable and actionable. This video is designed to reach diverse audiences, ensuring that more people, regardless of their technical knowledge, can make informed decisions about their homes.

The Benefits of This Work

  1. Education: The video simplifies the science behind heat pump water heaters, making the technology more accessible to underserved communities.
  2. Empowerment: Knowledge is power. By sharing this resource, we equip individuals to make energy choices that align with both their financial and environmental goals.
  3. Impact: Small changes, like upgrading to a heat pump water heater, collectively contribute to reducing carbon footprints and combating climate change. By installing 78 heat pump water heaters in 2024 alone, CEP helped clients avoid emitting 156 tons of CO2 – the equivalent of using 16,000 gallons of gas!

CEP’s Broader Mission

This video is just one example of CEP’s commitment to energy justice. As advocates, educators, and facilitators, we work tirelessly to ensure that everyone—especially low-income and BIPOC communities on the frontlines of climate change—have the tools and resources to thrive.

We invite you to watch, share, and join us in our mission to create a sustainable future for all. Together, we can amplify the impact of education and advocacy, one project at a time.

How can I see if I qualify for te CPE water heater? My water heater is over 20 years old and is in need to be replaced asap, and is the CPE heater the only style offered?
I rather replace mine for another electric water heater.
