Community Energy Project is proud to provide a variety of direct, in-homes services and educational workshops, and participate in important advocacy work. Behind all of these vital efforts is a team of vibrant, multifaceted, and hardworking individuals. We are excited to introduce the CEP Staff Spotlight, a series dedicated to the people who make everything we do possible. Today’s spotlight shines on CEP’s Climate Resilience Coordinator, Breanne Radford.
1.Describe your role at CEP and what makes you passionate about your position.
I provide free weatherization workshops that teach Do-It-Yourself low-cost techniques to save energy and stay comfortable year-round at home. I am passionate about sharing valuable energy-saving resources with the community and helping families feel safe and secure in their homes.
2. What is your work background and one unique skill you bring to CEP?
I worked in the wine industry in the shop, cellar, and vineyard for most of my adult life. Those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for storytelling; I get the opportunity to do that each time I present and attend events.
3. Describe one accomplishment you’ve made at CEP or a goal you have for the future in this role.
I was so proud when a workshop participant shared with me that they impressed themself by taking on DIY repairs after attending a workshop!
4. If you had to pick one meal to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Eastern North Carolina Barbeque, collard greens, & potato salad.
