Community Energy Project is proud to provide a variety of direct, in-homes services and educational workshops, and participate in important advocacy work. Behind all of these vital efforts is a team of vibrant, multifaceted, and hardworking individuals. We are excited to introduce the CEP Staff Spotlight, a series dedicated to the people who make everything we do possible. Today’s spotlight shines on CEP’s Strategic Energy Management Coordinator, Sara Wallach.
1. Describe your role at CEP and what makes you passionate about your position.
As Strategic Energy Management Coordinator, I work with Energy Trust to provide weatherization workshops to Multi-family homes throughout Oregon. I’m passionate about learning how climate is affecting those in different communities and my position allows me to provide resources to help vulnerable populations stay comfortable within their homes and manage their energy use.
2. What is your work background and one unique skill you bring to CEP?
My background is in international development and sustainability. A unique skill I have is that I am able to adapt to new environments which is helpful as I travel throughout the state, presenting workshops.
3. Describe one accomplishment you’ve made at CEP or a goal you have for the future in this role.
One accomplishment that I have made at CEP is that we were able to take our weatherization program to more rural communities throughout oregon. A goal I have is to use what I’ve learned from our participants and help apply their current challenges and situations to the advocacy side of our work so that we can make sure we are advocating for bills that truly support the people.
